You are invited to attend a free try out sailing day at the Humpybong Yacht Club at Woody Point in September.
The club's annual Open Day on Saturday 4th September, from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm, is the perfect opportunity for anyone wishing to discover how easy and fun it is to get onto the water. Free parking and shaded picnic areas make it the perfect family day out.
The club will operate a canteen and is providing a free sausage sizzle to people visiting the club or taking part in the try sail day.
Participants will be advised by club members on a wide range of information on sailing and how you can develop your skills from basic dinghy sailing for juniors and adults, right through to advanced techniques needed to sail fast, high tech, and highly competitive dinghy and catamaran classes. Participants will have the opportunity to quickly understand the fundamental of boat handling and essential safety awareness and knowledge that will allow them to confidently handle sailing small boats on beautiful Moreton Bay. Anyone wishing to be taken for a sail should wear comfortable sun protective clothing, a hat and sunscreen.
